http://www.getdownintwo.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Recommended.jpgWe live in the day and age of Information Technology. Due to computers and the Internet information is readily at hand from all around the world. This is a blessing and at the same time a curse. Some Christians inadvertantly stumble on to websites that they think are great simply because it goes under the title 'Christianity', and they are exposed to very bad, humanistic, self centered and unbiblical theology, and subsequenly influenced by that.

At the same time the Lord has blessed us with a vast amount of like-minded men, women and ministries that are serious with the Word of God, who love God, love His church and love His Word, and we have the benefit of access to their material via the Internet.

Back at church we can protect the pulpit by not just allowing anybody into the pulpit. That which we cannot control is the pulpit in your living room called TV and what you view on the Internet.

However we can recommend sites that we know are safe, even if we may not agree with them fully on all matters. Below you will find an ever growing list of links that we believe are reliable, sound in doctrine and beneficial for your faith. So click on these and enjoy.

I highly recommend this site. Alistair Begg is a man who is committed to sound Biblical Theology, and has been greatly gifted by God to articulate the truths of the Word of God accurately and clearly.

A site that you must visit as it will assist you in understanding Creation from the point of view of those who hold to a literal 6 day Creation story.

Click on this link for the ministry of John Piper who is one of the sharpest minds in theological thinking in our day. Highly recommended.

What about some Daily Devotions presented by John Piper. Now we know on the website that we already provide Daily Devotions by CH Spurgeon, John MacArthur and Jerry Bridges. I read them all daily as each one adds to the riches of my daily walk with the Lord in a different way. So if the rest are some solid food for your daily spiritual appetite, see this as the desert. Our desire is to simply bless you with resources that can be trusted and that are good for your growth.

Albert Mohler is one of the clearest minds and clearest speakers in Christian circles today. I find his blog entries to be a challenge in my own life.

Dr John MacArthur needs no introduction. He must be the world's leading figure on New Testament exposition and is renowned for preaching through the New Testament one verse at a time, covering it all. Close to the entire New Testament is available by his hands in commentary form, plus many other helpful books.

IX Marks is a site hosted by the staff of Capitol Hills Baptist Church Washington DC, sounding forth not politics, but the message of what healthy churches should look like. Study this material which is extremely insightful and helpful in many areas.

Some bookrooms exist mostly for profit, so they will sell you anything, even the false prophets. Augustine is not such a bookroom, and I highly recommend that you support them, by buying books by which you will profit in the right way.

Are you tired of my preaching? Well whether or not SermonAudio.Com has 804,082+ sermons for you to download and listen to. These are from more conservative churches where there is usually a greater commitment to expository preaching. No, you cannot stay home on Sunday. I know I have a face for Radio and a voice for print, but I am still your pastor and looooove to minister to you.

Resurgence is the Blog site of the ministry of Mars Hill Church where Mark Driscoll is the pastor. The articles on the blog are very relevant to daily Christian thinking and highly recommended. It is a privilege to recommend it.

The Gospel Coalition is a site that introduces you to a band of great Biblical teachers. This site gives you acess to their blogs, some of which are quite deep theologically. However of particular interrest to all is the daily devotions by DA Carson, who is an internationally renowned speaker who through his writing and speaking has inspired Christians around the world. Check out this site. There is much there for you. The link will take you to DA Carson's daily devotions, but there is so much more.

For a while I have been viewing the articles, theology and argumens of CARM, and it is my privilege to recommend them as one of the most balanced ministries in the area of apologetics. Their Biblical worldview is to be recommended, and I found that personal bias does not trump their interpretation of Scripture, but that the Word of God remains their final authority for faith and conduct.

CARM is a 501(c)3, non-profit, Christian ministry dedicated to the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ and the promotion and defense of the Christian Gospel, doctrine, and theology. To do this, CARM analyzes religious and non-religious movements and compares them to the Bible.

We are living in a day and age where militant atheism is on the rise. Many of their arguments based on philosophical premises seem to make sense and in the process they mislead young Christians and confuse the lost. They speak as though they have authority. Sadly many of their arguments are simply based on straw men. William Lane is a voice of reason in Christian circles who has proven himself as one who can debate the best of the best amongst atheists. He is research Professor of Philosophy at Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, California. Visit their site and follow the arguments.

http://www.spurgeon.org/images/archiv25.gifNeed I say more. Click on the link and read your heart out.

Monergism.com exists to aid in the growth and maturation of the worldwide Church by making available a wide array of free resources that support the historic, Reformed Christian faith, combat doctrinal error, and stir the flame of devotion which a right knowledge of the Savior must produce. It serves as a clearinghouse of electronic media addressing all aspects of the Christian faith from a historic, Reformed perspective; it is also a community weblog providing regular devotional and expositional thoughts which highlights various resources and ministries, with contributors from a variety of backgrounds who all share a solidarity in the Reformed faith.

All I can say is that this is a 'Eat your heart out' library of the Puritans. Many find the puritans difficult to read simply because of the language of their day. But I believe it is a hurdle we must overcome as here you will find the writings of men who had a clear love for God, a love for His church and a love for His Word. Reading the Puritans will always be one of the best roads to spiritual renewal as they were not caught up in fads and antics, but simply live to demonstrate the glory of God. Enjoy!
